Fun Ways to Ring In and Celebrate the New Year

There are how many days till 2020 and we’re sure that you’re tuckered out from the busy holiday season of gift giving and parties and other festivities. As the new year approaches, you’re ready to relax the remaining days of the year. Why not ring in 2020 with a low-key celebration? Here are a few ideas to consider when midnight January 01, 2020 strikes.

Movie Marathon

Round up a few of your favorite movies and snuggle under a blanket on the couch and ring in 2020 watching movies you consider to be the best ones of all time. Pop some popcorn, grab a few candy bars and mix a cocktail or two and get ready to sit down and enjoy hours of laughing, crying or even screaming to your favorite flicks. Of course, due to the season, movies about the holidays are sure to warm your heart and enlighten your spirit.

Play Board or Video Games

Enjoy an evening of playing a variety of classic board games to pass the night away. Invite close friends and family and bring on the competitive fun! Games such as CLUE, Battleship, Connect Four, Jenga and Twister are sure to make you relive your childhood. Oh, and it also helps if you win! For those that are more technologically savvy, however, try your hand at playing the latest video games such as Fortnite, Minecraft or Mario Kart. There will be endless hours of fun for everyone!

Treasure or Scavenger Hunt

Spending New Year’s Eve on a treasure/scavenger hunt is another way to celebrate 2020. Although this takes a bit more planning, family, friends and kids will get a kick out of answering riddles and clues to find the treasure of goodies hidden around the house as well as out in the yard. This is a great family activity and a great way to get the blood flowing.

Karaoke and Dance Party

Dance and sing the night away with your very own karaoke and dance party! There’s no need to dress up, come in pajamas and get ready to bust a move or sing your heart out. Create your very own dance floor and karaoke bar! Push all the couches and tables away for an instant dance floor. Candlelight Dinner of Appetizers

Forget about eating a fancy dinner or indulging in a gourmet meal. Why not dine on appetizers instead? Keep the candlelight for the ambiance, but cook up some bite size and finger food goodies that kids of all ages can enjoy. Set up a spread of all your favorite appetizers on the dining table. Use the fancy dinner plates and silverware too, but just note they’re optional. It’s all about using your hands!
